David Izlar, Co-Managing Partner
David is a Principal of Freestone Real Estate and is responsible for all aspects of the business.
Prior to Freestone, David spent eight years at Sweetwater Holding Company where he was responsible for overseeing development, construction and the financial underwriting of Sweetwater’s Fund Investments. Before Sweetwater, David was a Project Manager at Taylor Mathis.
David lives in Sandy Springs with his wife Kate, and their 3 (soon to be 4) children.

Joe Knight, Co-Managing Partner
Joe is a Principal of Freestone Real Estate and is responsible for all aspects of the business.
Prior to Freestone, Joe started and ran Tanalta | Real Estate where he developed small office buildings and sub-institutional industrial land. Before Tanalta, Joe was a founder of Go Doorstep and valet waste and recycling company that he grew to service 10,000 apartments across the southeast. Joe and his Partners sold Go Doorstep to a large competitor in 2020.
Joe lives in the Wildwood Neighborhood of Buckhead with his wife, Sarah, and their 3 kids.

David brings his over 40 years of real estate experience to Freestone Real Estate and advises the company on all aspects.
Prior to Freestone, David spent over 25 years at Walton Communites as Partner and Chief Development Officer where he developed and managed over 7,000 apartments across Georgia.
David lives in the Haynes Manor Neighborhood with his wife Jeni. He has two adult children and five grandkids.
